Break muna. I have been google-ing CIMT for patient qualifications and after an hour, I had enough. I'll try again tomorrow. Gosh. it's easter. It means it's monday tomorrow=work=new patients=more work. And I don't want to yet. My vacation is just starting, although i often get sick when i'm on leave, i kinda like the idea of getting out of bed at the time you're supposed to be at work.
Uhhhhhhh.................................................huhuhu....................................huhuhu.....
I went on vacation so that I could reset myself and get me motivated. The problem is not seeing them for a few days had made me reconsider some things, like am I still happy at my work, if Im not will i resign, what will i do if i resign, the usual chain of thought.
Okay, here's the thing. These past few months had mede me realize that I do love my work, as an OT. I like being the boss, and I do think I have the knack for it. But the main problem is not the job itself but it's more with the people i work with. They don't make it fun and I seriously don't know who's being honest with me. I don't go to most of the gimmicks they arrange because going would make me feel like i'm still working. I could run away and not work there, but the thing is there will be people like them wherever. I feel like I'm suddenly transported back to highschool, where my first 2 years was actually hell. Thankfully things were way better on my 3rd year, but I have to wait for another year? I have to go through with it because it was highschool and I don't have the choice mainly because my parents has a final say about it but i'm working now and I can resign and my parents cannot do anything about it actually. But then what would I do? They'll be leaving soon anyway. And actually, reading 7 habits of highly effective people is not helping me much right now because it makes me feel more frustrated and I don't know if i am making much progress.

I love a challenge. Don't you? just when I thought I was familiar with the current techniques that are being used in practice, I realized I wasn't. I have a new patient whose wife apparently does her homework and regularly researches new treatment procedures in the internet asked me one magical question: What do you think of induced constraint therapy? And i was like "say what?" I was lucky i was able to get out of my wits and answered "Im familiar with it. it was mentioned in school but just enpassing(lying.... and its holy week. im so bad~well if it was mentioned, tulog ako non kaya di ko narinig). More focus was given to the traditional techniques such as NDTS, MRPS...." Gosh. Pang Binibining Pilipinas! Super. Except for the wrong grammar part. And since I told my patient Im willing to try it out and see if it will work, here iam. researching. To give you guys an idea(lalo na yung sa mga tulad ko na hindi masyado familiar) it's like MRPs, na mas toxic. because the program requires that the unaffected arm be placed in a sling (accdg to anna limpingco yung tunay na prog requires the px to wear a FIBER GLASS SPLINT!), then the affected arm is subjected into intense training. as in pipilitin mo yung patient na humawak ng spoon, mag sabon etc. using his hemi arm. I haven't seen a manual or treatment protocol yet and after an hour of research so far what I have are the qualifications so that the patient may be included in the program and with what other techniques can it be combined with.
And to think, Im supposed to be on leave and was supposed to not do any work till monday. Looks like I have the whole week to look for material. Sabi ko na nga ba. hehehe ;p Enkoy the week guys

Today wasn't exactly what I had in mind. I was planning on spending my morning with my bestfriend, then I'll be going to my home patient in the afternoon, be dead tired so that I'll just hop in bed the moment I step inside the house. Instead, my brunch was cancelled, I moved my scheduled patient early in the afternoon, spent 2 hours in starbucks, played 2 video games in the arcade, watched atonement (which by the way is a very serious movie), and to top all that am having a massive headache because I haven't eaten properly all day (or this could be just a delayed brain freeze reaction from the coffee jelly frappe I had this afternoon ~note to self: stick to hot starbucks drinks~). Or again this could be due to the fact that there were noisy sossy little girls and boys inside the movie house a while ago. It was a good thing the movie was too serious for them, they left 1/3s of the film and never came back again, good riddance. The movie was good, and I actually wanted to find a copy of the book and see if the book was as good as the film. The part that I liked about it is how one of the characters (Brainy - pronounced briny) recognized her mistake and tried to seek atonement for the thing she had done to her sister and to Robbie.
I'm just babbling here. Im checking my watch because I still have to eat and actually have no idea where. Ill probably try the japanese restaurant in the 2nd floor.
